We lost our cat, Merlin, this past week. He was 15+ years old and still a sweet and energetic cat. He was very pretty with his blue/gray fur and white accents. He came to live with us as a tiny kitten, eventually grew into his ears, and lived with us until his very last day on this earth. He earned his name because he could jump so high as a kitten -- it was almost magical. What causes us get so attached to our pets?
