Re: Quote of the Week

Not that I disagree with my mother-in-law frequently, nor do I take it lightly, but this once, I must beg to differ. As for monuments erected to pessimists, what about Stalin, Mao, Pinochet, Pol Pot, just to name a few?

Oh, sorry. Perhaps you meant American pessimists. That does make it tougher. Give me a minute...

Okay John -- I have a few points...
1. It's not nice to argue with your MIL.
2. I'm not sure I believe any of those you cited were true pessimists. On the contrary, I think they had a "can do" attitude -- they were just doing the wrong things.
3. Take it up with Paul Harvey.
4. No more Chocolate Eclair cake for you!
5. Refer back to # 1.
6. The peanut is a spitting imagine of Jimmy.

What about the Rocky statue? He was pretty down in the dumps after getting mauled by Clubber Lang in Rocky III.
